Nik Wallenda Walks Over Niagara Falls On Tightrope

Carnival music blared from a truck, as workers set up two jumbo screens for the crowd to watch Wallenda’s wire-walk earlier in the day. Nik Wallenda has become the first person to walk on a tightrope 1,800 feet across the mist-fogged brink of roaring Niagara Falls.

Wallenda accomplished the feat on Friday night, while an estimated crowd of 107,000 Canadians and 4,000 on the American side watched.
When asked what he would do next, Wallenda said: "I have permits to be the first person in the world to walk across the Grand Canyon so that's a process we'll start working on. I'd say within three to five years I'll accomplish that as well."

Prof Orbax returning for local sideshow performance

Have you’ve ever met a man with a forked tongue? If so it’s probably Burnaby Q. Orbax.

Orbax attempted his record last fall, pulling a 4,050 kilogram truck using just two shark hooks through the skin of his back. The record was approved two weeks ago, recognizing Orbax’s 111.7-metre pull over the course of six minutes.

“I don’t think anyone else can, or is stupid enough, to try breaking that,” said Orbax.

If missed on out on the gruesome record-breaking, the duo will be bringing their comedic sideshow act, Monsters of Schlock, back to Guelph on June 21 for the first time in several years.
Monsters of Schlock will take over Guelph with an adults-only show Thursday, June 21 at 9 p.m. at eBar on Quebec Street.
